Frye Island Community Information
Located just three hours from Boston, MA, Frye Island is an amazing destination in the State of Maine to visit. Although there are over 500 homes on Frye Island, homeowners don't live there year round. As Frye Island is a summer resort area, everyone leaves the island from the last week of April to first week of November. There are countless wonderful things about the island, but the great thing is that there are so many amenities like golfing, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball courts, baseball/soccer field, and a community center complete with planned activities for adults and kids. With 13 public beaches, a marina, a lakeside cafe & general store, you will never be without what you need! This and so much more keep bringing people back year after year. Frye Island is on a beautiful Maine lake in the lower middle of the lake, near Raymond Neck Peninsula. This lake is none other than Sebago Lake, and it’s fairly close to the Westbrook area and to Portland, ME itself.
The Community Center is the focal point of the island. Both the Community Center and the Golf Course Club House are easily accessible here on Frye Island. Call me for a tour and we can view my featured listings as well as take a tour of local landmarks like the Town Hall or Long Beach Marina. Frye Island Ferry only operates a certain time of the year. Plan out your visit so that you will receive the warmest welcome! Every year, the ferry begins transporting passengers to the island for its summer activities at the end of April. After the first Ferry, you will have regularly scheduled runs until the the last run finishes around the end of October.
