Moose Pond, in Denmark, Bridgton, and Sweden, is known for its beauty at the base of the Shawnee Peak. It has a fabulous view from the ski area, as well as from Route 302. Access Moose Pond from the town ramp at the Route 302 causeway. It is also possible to launch a boat near the outlet.
The pond is divided into three distinct basins, all of which thermally stratify during the summer months. The upper and lower basins have lower oxygen levels in the cold water layers, which diminishes the value of these two basins for the management of coldwater fish. The middle basic, however, provides great habitat for cold water fish. This middle basic is home to primarily landlocked salmon and lake trout. The lake is annual stock with both species.
